On Tuesday in the first period we have been going to creative writing run by Karen Davidson. this includes a few year 4s (us) a few year 5s and a few year 6s. We have been writing poems and stories entering our bits of work into competitions some of us have even been published.
Here are three pieces of writing
its voice speaks to the rails,
its wings shoot through cities that soon grows to the past,
its song is the air,
as it travels round and round,
doing its duties,
as passengers babble,
it continues,
day and night
the train.

Ocean
I step down the sand,
as the waves lap in,
I take another step,
the freezing water trickles
around my feet,
It looks as though
it has been painted by the shining sun.
The risk has been taken. Sylvie King
Gallipolli
it is world war I,
men fighting against their word,
for those who died may shine upon us,
for the woman who heard,
those firing guns.
the excited men became glum,
as they noticed the disappearing sun,
those crosses that now stand tall,
will guard the graves of men,
who sacrificed their lives for us.

These are lovely poems girls - they're very evocative.
